The immaculate construction of ancient Greek theatres, the unparalleled beauty of Hermes of Praxiteles, the amphora as a widely recognised Greek artefact and last but not least, the intricately decorated façades of Byzantine temples have acted as creative stepping stones for these collections to unravel.

A simplified architectural plan of Epidauros Theatre is used as the basic element to create patterns. The patterns similarly to their single element are minimal, following the design and structure of the actual theatre. Different strokes and lines have been layered to add a subtle richness to the final outcome. The patterns have been applied and printed on silk scarves, cotton t-shirts, tote bags etc.

A vast number of ceramic & bronze figurines have been retrieved in the surrounding area of the Temple of Zeus in Ancient Olympia, dating back to the Geometric era.

Drawing inspiration from their minimal, stylised forms and naturally muted colour palette STUDIOLAV have designed a collection of objects including scarves, tableware and jewellery.

A reference to blueprints, a term commonly used to refer to construction or technical drawings, has been used as the main narrative for this series for Dipylon Amphora collection. The outline of one of the most important exhibits in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Dipylon Amphora is shown in three different arrangements, either as a single element or as part of a larger pattern.

Hermes, a God between light and dark, divine but also sinister, is a god of contrasts and contradictions.

Similarly the statue of Hermes of Praxiteles while its front is immaculate, its back is unfinished with its visible chiseled stone marks. In this collection in the same way, Hermes is present and he is not. He is half revealing himself behind a geometric volume. This interpretation and the texture of Hermes is a reference to the contrasting stories and personality.
